MEDICAL CHECKUP...LOL...

Ok, medical checkups are more of a hassle than I ever thought possible. Not to mention I had to practically starve myself for the entire morning for the sake of one darn blood test...

Oh, and my sinus attacks cum flu is back...OF ALL TIMES!!!

Mom and Aunty Koi Hong (who, by the way, was kind enough to stow away from work; she's a nurse in HUKM, and navigate us to HKL) were fretting all over like it was my first day of school or something. Add that to the massive crowd and the huge impossible-NOT-to-get-lost hospital and my ever runny nose...and you have a very VERY irritable Shu Ning...

After repeated trips to the counter (fill in this, pay that, yada yada yada...), they finally gave me two specimen containers to pee in...which I dutifully did, and got pee all over my hands in the process...*cue ewwws...*

Mom had to drive aunty back to HUKM suddenly, so there I was, left alone for my first ever full medical checkup.

Wait......

Wait...................

Wait..................................

Finally, it was time for my eye checkup, colour-blindness test, which by the way, I mistook a 3 for an 8 (shows that I'm not colour-blind...I'm dead blur...) and the guy was like "WHAT?!" before I rectified my mistake.

Blood test...jeez...I can't remember the needle being that big...It's definitely much larger than the usual injection needles that barely hurt...This one was the size of a long sewing needle...(Sharon, you can shudder now...muahaha...) Ok, it didn't really hurt that much either...just kinda unnerving to see that needle piercing my skin and the nurse struggling to draw enough of my "pekat" blood to fill in 2 tubes.

Next, I was directed to somewhere in the Main Building to do ANOTHER urine test, and later on, to do a chest X-Ray. And with my absymal sense of direction, I got hopelessly lost; having to ask countless other people for directions...turn left, turn right, go straight, go up, go down...

And to fill up a total of THREE specimen containers in the space of 1 hour, hello, I'm not a Water Tank like Sharon, ok??!! (Lol...=P)

After countless wrong turnings, I reached the X-Ray area, and was coached through the process. Admittedly, it was NOT fun, and I felt like an exposed chicken on a vertical execution block (what did you expect?! They raised the chin-rest thingy so high...yes I'm short...that I was choking..)

"Deep breath, and hold it"

(WTH, I can't even breath...just get it over with, will ya?)

BEEP = X-Ray taken= bye bye gazillions of cells in my body...

Later on, Aunty Koi Hong, through some pulling of strings (Hehe...she used to work there...) convincd them to allow me to do the Mantoux Test there and then itself. Great, another jab. The needle was smaller this time, but what annoyed me was that the nurse kept telling me not to pull back, or wince, and to "tahan" even before she took the needle out of its sheath...Made me think it was some excruciatingly painful process...Turns out, it was just like BCG...

A new definition to "thick-skinned", though. The nurse tried piercing my skin the first time with the needle, only it didn't penetrate, merely drawing a few drops of blood. She had to pierce it AGAIN, somewhere near the first area. Lol...It kinda built up suspense when I watched my skin hold against the needle...caving in but NOT giving way, until finally (ouch) it was in..haha...it was kinda cute though, the way my skin swelled up slowly into a perfect circle as the liquid was slowly emptied from the vial.

By then, my hand was quite a sight. The bandage from the blood test..the swelling from the Mantoux test...and Phoebe's daily scratches...

Later on, mom took me to Pyramid to buy my "supplies", but we ended up watching Shrek 3 instead...It was HILARIOUS!!! XD

Hoping to catch Pirates, though.....*cough cough hint hint*=P
